Carmen is a Stromae song, sixth single from the album Racine carrée.
His clip, designed by Sylvain Chomet, director of Belleville Rendez-Vous[1] is posted on social networks, via the Facebook account of the American news website BuzzFeed Music. The video and lyrics of the song violently attack social networks through the Twitter bird, on the air of Georges Bizet's opera Carmen.[2][3]

The song is an adaptation of the air L'amour est un oiseau rebelle (Love is a rebellious bird), from the opera Carmen from French composer Georges Bizet.[4][5][6] The song addresses the theme of alienation through social networks, whose logo is a blue bird, symbol representing the social network Twitter.
Music video[edit]
The animated clip was drawn by Sylvain Chomet. At the beginning of the clip, we can see Stromae younger on his Twitter account. A little blue bird arrives (the mascot of Twitter) who starts to hum. Paul (Van Haver aka Stromae) takes a selfie with and puts the picture on his account. Gradually, the bird becomes larger and takes more space in his life and away from others. Then he climbs on the back of his bird and crosses a piece of road. On the back of other identical birds, he sees successively celebrities like Orelsan, Justin Bieber, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga, Barack Obama, Elizabeth II of England, and many others. Then his bird takes him by the neck and feeds him to a huge blue bird monster. All people mounted on birds are also being eaten. They become the feces of the monster bird whose hand comes out to take a selfie of people falling. At the end of the clip, a little blue bird comes to sing at the window of the room of Paul's little sister who strikes his cell phone. This ending is like a new beginning, because the beginning of the clip was framed in the same place, and Paul was doing the same thing.
